From a Chrono Trigger Melody to a Music Box
How the desire to share a video game soundtrack with my son led me to build my own music box.
The audio player for kids that truly belongs to you
Open source. Screen-free. Repairable. Your content, your rules.
When you buy an audio player for your child, who really owns the content? Imagine a CD player that only plays one brand's CDs, stops working if the store closes. Sounds absurd? That's exactly what the market offers.
We decided to build the player we wished we could buy. The solution comes down to four words: open, repairable, local, free. A player you can open, repair, and fill with your own music. The software is open source, spare parts are available. No trap, no wall, no surprise.
From the app, link each card to a playlist, album, or story.
The Music Box recognizes the card and instantly starts playing.
No screen, no ads, no tracking. Just music and imagination.
Zero tracking, zero data collection. Your children play, not our algorithms.
The code is open. If we disappear tomorrow, the community continues.
Every part is replaceable. Built to last.

From age 1. A simple, intuitive gesture that makes them autonomous in their musical discovery.
Keep total control over the content. Use your own music, stories, podcasts.
Open source code. Build your own, modify it, improve it. Total freedom.
A screen-free educational tool for schools, daycare, and activity centers.
Transfer your MP3 files via the mobile app. Create playlists and link them to NFC cards. No proprietary format.
MusicBox is currently under development. We are designing it to maximize repairability, and all parts will be available for purchase.
MusicBox works without any subscription. You bring your own content and it is stored locally. We plan to offer additional content later for those who want it.
MusicBox does not need internet to work. File transfer is done over your local Wi-Fi network, and you can easily turn off wireless to protect your children.
Yes, MusicBox has no screen at all. Children interact only with physical NFC cards and buttons. It is a healthy alternative to tablets and smartphones.
The MusicBox source code is planned to be made open source later in its development. You will then be able to inspect, modify, and improve the product freely.
