What you can do with the app, and what you can't.
This end-user license agreement governs your use of The Open Music Box mobile application (the "App"). It is an agreement between you and Jonathan Piette, the copyright holder of the App.
"The Open Music Box" and "MusicBox" are product and brand names; they do not refer to a separate legal entity.
By downloading, installing or using the App, you accept this agreement. If you don't agree, please don't install or use the App.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the compiled App on devices you own or control.
You can't, and you can't allow anyone else to:
sell, rent, lend, sub-license, distribute or make the App available to others;
copy, modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the App, except where expressly permitted by applicable law;
reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to extract its source code, except to the extent the law allows;
remove, alter or obscure any proprietary notices (copyright or trademarks) in the App;
use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
We may offer you updates, patches or new versions of the App. This agreement applies to any such update, unless a separate agreement comes with it.
The App may interact with hardware (the The Open Music Box device), local networks and optional third-party or self-hosted services. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service's own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
This license stays in effect until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach any of the terms of this agreement. We can also revoke it at any time. On termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies in your possession.
The app is provided as is, without any legal warranty of any kind. We do everything we can to protect your data: encrypted communications with your MusicBox, no ads or trackers, data collection kept to the strict minimum, services hosted in Belgium (GDPR). We also do our best to give you a reliable, quality app.
In plain terms: if something goes wrong while you use the app, I can't be held liable for any resulting damage (data loss, service interruption, and the like). Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability that can't be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, for consumers, mandatory consumer-protection rights).
This agreement is governed by Belgian law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of Belgium have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
