Spoiler: almost nothing.
TheOpenMusicBox is designed to know nothing about you. No behavioural tracking, no user profile, no data resale. This page documents the three places where any data transits, and what we do with it.
This site uses Umami, an open-source analytics tool, self-hosted on our own servers in Belgium. Umami counts page views in aggregate, with no cookie, no user identifier, no stored IP. Data never leaves our infrastructure and is never shared.
When the site hits a JavaScript error or a broken page, a report is sent to our self-hosted GlitchTip instance. GlitchTip is an open-source tool compatible with the Sentry protocol, hosted on our servers in Belgium, data does not leave.
Reports are anonymous by default: no IP address, no cookies, no user headers, no session recording. They contain only the technical context needed to reproduce the bug (URL, error message, browser trace). Sole purpose: improve site reliability.
In the mobile app, this telemetry will be opt-out in Settings › Privacy › Opt-out (coming soon).
If you leave your email in the 'Stay informed' form, it is used exclusively to notify you about project progress. No third-party sharing, no marketing profile, no open-tracking.
Technical note: collection currently routes through a Google Apps Script. We are working to replace it with a self-hosted solution before the public launch.
