Connecting your MusicBox for the first time
The first time, the MusicBox does not know your Wi-Fi. The app gives it over Bluetooth, with your phone right next to it.
Allow a few minutes, and keep three things at hand.
What you need
The TMB app installed on your phone.
Your Wi-Fi network's name and its password.
Your MusicBox's verification code. Where to find it depends on how you got your MusicBox:
- If you bought it
It is on the label on the back. The app offers to scan the QR code or to type the code by hand.
- If you built it yourself
There is no label: plug the MusicBox into the Software page over USB, which shows the code in step 3 as "Access code (PoP)". Type it by hand in the app.
Your Wi-Fi network
The MusicBox joins a network protected with at least WPA2. An open network, with no password, or one protected with WEP will not work.
It cannot see hidden networks: your network has to appear in the list the app shows you.
Switch it on and start pairing
On the MusicBoxBlue, slow blinkSwitch the MusicBox on. After the startup bar, its light blinks slowly in blue: it waits for you over Bluetooth for one minute.
In the app, choose "Add via Bluetooth", then "Start pairing". Accept the Bluetooth permissions your phone asks for: without them, it cannot find the MusicBox.
Pick your MusicBox and enter its code
On the MusicBoxBlue, slow breathingThe app lists the MusicBoxes it finds. They are called TMB followed by four characters. Tap yours, then scan or type its verification code.
Once the app is connected, the light breathes gently in blue.
Give it your Wi-Fi
On the MusicBoxGreen, one flashPick your network in the list, enter its password, then tap "Connect". The MusicBox makes up to three attempts.
When it works, its light gives a green flash, the app shows "Configuration successful!" and the MusicBox restarts to join your network.
You can give it a name in "Server name", or leave the field empty to keep the default name. Then tap "Test and save".
If it gets stuck
The light no longer blinks blue
The MusicBox only waits for you over Bluetooth for one minute after each startup. After that, its light blinks slowly in magenta: it broadcasts its own Wi-Fi network, also named TMB followed by four characters. It is not a fault.
To give it another minute, switch it off and on again, then start pairing again in the app. As long as it has never joined a network, it waits for you like this at every startup.
The code is refused
A wrong code makes the light blink red once. Check the code: on the label, or on the Software page if you built your MusicBox.
After five wrong codes, the MusicBox turns Bluetooth off. Switch it off and on again to start over.
The Wi-Fi password is refused
If all three attempts fail, the light blinks red once, the MusicBox forgets that password and the app shows an error.
Start pairing again with the right password. If the light no longer blinks blue, switch it off and on again.
