Updating the MusicBox

The MusicBox software improves regularly. The update is started from the app, in two stages: a download during which you can keep listening, then a short installation.

Checking for an update

In the app, open Settings, choose your MusicBox, then "Software update". The line shows the installed version.

The app checks when this screen opens. You can check again with "Check".

Downloading the update

When a version is offered, tap "Download and install". The MusicBox downloads the update in the background: music, cards and uploads keep working.

The download can pause to protect playback, or for the length of a music upload. It then resumes on its own.

Installing the update

When the download is finished, tap "Install now", then confirm. Playback stops, and the MusicBox plays nothing until the installation is over.

During the installation, a mauve light goes round and the buttons and cards are ignored. Do not switch the MusicBox off. It then restarts, steady mauve light, and carries on with the new version.

When the update is refused

The MusicBox refuses to update without a microSD card, when its card is full, during a music upload or during a Bluetooth connection. The app tells you which one.

If the installation fails

On the MusicBoxRed, fast blink

The light blinks fast in red for five seconds. The MusicBox has not changed version: it keeps running on the old one, and the app confirms it.

You can start the update again. If it fails again, write to us.
